What Exactly Are Our Retreats About?

Retreats offer a break from everyday life while simultaneously providing skills to bring home with you to improve on your daily life. Fit and Healthy Journey’s retreats strive to give you a closer connection with both your body and the world around you. Combining travel, stunning views, relaxing yoga and amazing hikes, our retreats are unlike any others. Travel can often be stressful, but we remove those stressors and create a unique itinerary where the only thing you have to worry about is what kind of coffee you want in the morning.

I like to think about retreats as summer camp for adults. Enjoy all the excitement of a vacation to a foreign country without any of the hassle of coordinating accommodation or activities. Each retreat we stay at a stunning location, each one carefully selected for both its privacy as well as cultivating a feeling of home and family among our retreat goers. We keep our retreats small so that everyone can get the most out of the experience. Each of our meals was carefully selected to give you the best culinary experience possible. From local and traditional dishes to unique restaurants to a cooking class from a local chef, we have crafted a menu to give you a wide range of taste bud experiences. Retreats are a healing safe space to get away from everyday life. There is no judgment in the retreat space. We are all there to grow and share new experiences together.

And of course the yoga. The deep breaths and slow movements of a gentle yoga practice can be just what your body needs. Sometimes when you hear yoga at a retreat you may thing of active and energetic yoga but this is not the case at our retreats. We offer restorative yoga which is a restful practice that encourages you to slow down and open your body through passive stretching. it is suitable for practitioners of all levels, is a restful practice that holds poses (asanas) for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga—the union of body and mind. Through the use of props for support, many of the postures are held almost effortlessly.Sometimes a restorative yoga practice have participants barely moving, holding only a few postures. An invitation to slow it down and smell the roses as we breathe in and blow out the candles as we breathe out. So simple but sometimes challenging for us too do.

2025 retreats are in the making and stay tuned for the details over the next few months.
