  • Enjoy meals prepared specially for you by our local on site gourmet chef using local sourced ingredients. At Silver Birch enjoy formal dinners served in our dining room overlooking the bay. Venture out into the local villages to sample the diverse local and traditional fare. From pubs to cafe’s, Ireland is rich in ambience for every occasion. Irish soda bread and scones are definitely on the menu.

  • One evening during the week our chef will welcome us into the kitchen for a cooking class experience. Learn how to make a mouthwatering dish and enjoy it moments later.

  • Twice throughout the week we will provide a full Traditional Irish Breakfast including everything from Irish Sausages to Soda bread.

  • Explore the Garden of Re-Imagination and Esk mountain as an experienced local guide takes you on a foraging experience where you will learn about local eatable plants and have a chance to feast on what you gather.

  • They provide an opportunity to be in nature where you can experience the natural ruggedness of the Irish Countryside and Coastline like the Mizen Head, Dursey Island or among the beautiful gardens of West Cork including Garnish Island. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of Ireland where you will visit places like Bantry House, The Skibbereen Heritage Center and Blarney Castle where you can have a transformative experience to help broaden and expand your world view.

  • These adventures and excursions will rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit through the serene and breathtaking landscapes of West Cork and can be a powerful tool for personal growth and a life changing experience.

  • The largest Market in Co. Cork. It is not just a farmers’ market, you will find everything from local craft stalls to Bric á Brac, clothes, plants, tools and a fantastic array of food stalls selling the very best of West Cork fayre.

  • Tour of the house and Gardens by a member of the White Family. Though there is no longer an Earl of Bantry, the house remains to this day in the White family, descendants of the Earls of Bantry.

  • Travel by ferry to Garnish island, an island that can be seen from Silver Birch house, which has been transformed into beautiful gardens, boasting rare and special plants from around the world. The gardens have inspired many throughout the years including George Bernard Shaw while he wrote his play “St. Joan”. More recently the Island has inspired its own line of Gin, brewed to capture the unique blend of floral scents of the Island.

  • Silver Birch house has two saunas available for use. One indoors and one down by the water of Bantry Bay. We will combine the waterside sauna experience with a cold plunge in the Bantry Bay.

  • Explore the Garden of Re-Imagination and Esk mountain as an experienced local guide takes you on a foraging experience where you will learn about local eatable plants and have a chance to feast on what you gather.

  • Choose from either a sunset Kayak tour or late-night bioluminescent kayak tour and explore the bay Silver Birch looks out over.

    • Travel to the most southwesterly point of Ireland and see the famous Mizen head signal station and learn about its partner lighthouse. On a clear day you can even spot the lighthouse on its tiny rocky island 3.5 miles off the coast.

    • Visit one of Cork’s best beaches and enjoy relaxing Yoga on the sands.

    • Visit the Irish heritage center and learn about the history of West Cork and the impact of the Great Famine on its inhabitants.

    • Lunch at one of Skibbereen’s most famous restaurant’s which creates masterpieces from local produce and is rich in local history.

    • Visit Lough Hyne, Ireland’s first Marine Nature reserve. This seawater lake is considered one of the most important marine habitats in Europe. There are two hike options, one travels around the Lough while the other climbs a small local mountain to provide stunning view of the Lough and surrounding countryside.

  • Travel to Dursley Island. Accessible only by cable car, this island is rich in historical landmarks and beautiful scenery. Explore these unique sites on a tour guided by a local and learn about the history of the island and its three villages. Alternate excursion available to those who are not comfortable with Cable car travel.
