Experience the Magic of Ireland A Retreat Like No Other

Lough Hyne, West Cork

Ireland is best known for its stunning natural landscapes. From the rolling green fields that give it the title of Emerald Isle to the storm lashed coastlines, Ireland’s untamed wilds are unmatched in beauty. 1500 years ago, Ireland was partially covered by glacial ice. Moving across the landscape, the glacial ice scraped away the soil creating rocky landscapes such as the Burren in Co. Clare, a Karst limestone landscape originating from a 365-million-year-old tropical seabed. The dramatic Irish landscapes are steeped in legends, myths and fairytales, some stretching back as far as 5000 years ago. Rural Ireland is at once foreign and familiar, the unique combination of natural beauty and ancient architecture gives Ireland a mythical and magical aesthetic.

The emerald isle is a nation of storytellers, beginning with the Celtic bards who would record and recite the country’s history. Though Ireland has undergone great modernization in the last decade they are dedicated to preserving their culture and heritage. The Irish government has gone to great lengths to preserve the natural beauty and history of Ireland, creating six national parks, hundreds of heritage sites and the Wild Atlantic Way, a 1600 mile long coastal drive which stretches from Derry in the north of Ireland to Cork in the south which highlights the power of the ocean and it imprint on the western coast of Ireland. From beautiful white sandy beaches to rugged coastlines dominated by cliffs which reach up to two thousand feet above the sea, there is something for everyone on the Wild Atlantic Way.
